Below is a brief update we received from our missionaries, Brent and Colleen Weaver back in 2021. At the time, they were serving in Ukraine, but since the war, have relocated to serving in Estonia. They continue their ministry to train people to be disciple-makers.
“For the past 3-months, we were on ‘home assignment’ in the USA visiting family, friends and supporting churches and individuals. This is always a great time to reconnect with people who are valuable in our lives and important members of our extended team.
We arrived back in Kyiv, Ukraine, in the middle of May. With the city in a Covid lockdown again it is unclear exactly what our ministry will look like but we will continue with online ministry with groups and individuals with whom we have discipling relationships. Colleen will continue with her PhD dissertation writing, as well as exploring her new role as Director of Disciplemaking for One Mission Society Global. This is one of the new roles recently created in OMS as we go through some significant restructuring around multiplying disciple-makers, churches, missionary movements, and theologically trained leaders.
We appreciate your prayers as we adjust back into life and work in Ukraine and fruitfulness in all of the opportunities that God opens to us.”
Brent and Colleen Weaver,
Serving in Ukraine.
As of 2024, Colleen primarily teaches and mentors students at the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary while Brent focuses on helping local churches and leaders to mobilise intentional disciplemaking.
