The Future Hope for Russia! Bible College students training to take Christ’s love to Russia
Dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, Peace to you! My name is Yuliya Serikova. I am a first year student of the Moscow Evangelical Christian Seminary (Bible College). I am studying toward a Bachelor of Theology degree.
I thank the Lord for His love toward me, for caring for me and my family, for filling my life with meaning and joy and for performing miracles in my life. When we trust Him, He gives so much more than we would ever dream of.
A good example to this graciousness of God the miracle maker is my enrollment to the Seminary. I could not have even thought or dreamed that the Lord would have blessed me so abundantly. I thank the Lord for every brother and sister with whom I got acquainted here, for the unity and joy of fellowship which we have in Him. Please, pray so that every one of us fulfill the call the Lord gives us, so that we would fulfill His will for us.
I thank God for each and every faculty member of the Seminary, for the love, care, and attention we receive. I very much like all of the classes and courses we are being offered here. These courses teach us to treat the Word of God with respect, and to pay attention to people. They help us to pray for and serve one other and to also minister to other people. They broaden our horizons with regard to the knowledge of God and His character. They help us to be rooted more and more firmly in Him.
Most of all, I would like to share with you what I learn about those who have not come to the saving knowledge of the Lord. They keep on looking for some meaning in their life; they seek joy which only the Lord can give. And I pray for the Lord to give me obedience to Him, and wisdom in dealing with people, and a desire to share my joy, which comes from the Lord, with them any time and any place. I am from the Donskoye village which is in the vicinity of the city of Lipetsk about 400 miles South of Moscow. I used to live with my Mom and Sveta, my younger sister, before I moved to Moscow. I thought I would never like a big city and prayed to the Lord to show me the city in a way He wants me to see it. And I have had yet another confirmation to the fact that the Lord always hears us. For the district of Moscow in which the Moscow Evangelical Christian Seminary is located, is probably the cleanest and the safest district in the city.
I believe that the Lord cares for us and our relatives. It happened that my Mom had been deprived from having fellowship with me for a long time. But the Lord took care of it and a phone line was brought to her house, in a miraculous way which only the Lord could achieve. So nowadays we have this fellowship, for my Mom can pick up the phone and give me a call any time. My sister was baptized last month. So, I pray for the Lord to keep her safe and help her to get rooted in Him.
I thank the Lord for the family which I gained in Him, and, particularly, for His Church in the village I used to live in. But here I learned that His Family was much wider than I used to think, that His family is present in Moscow, America, Australia, and everywhere in the world. We sing the same praises, appeal to the same Father, and worship the same God. Here, in Moscow, I attend a church where people are open to seeking the Lord’s will and to fulfill it once found. I would love to be obedient to God and to serve Him where necessary, where I can be of any help. I would love to discover gifts and talents which the Lord blessed me with. And I ask the Lord to use me where He wants and give me humbleness before Him and obedience to His will. Please, pray so that the call of the Lord would be fulfilled in my life.
I praise the Lord for you, for your open hearts. May the Lord bless you with every blessing, and give you the joy in whatever you do to serve Him. May the Lord keep you from evil and abide with you all of the days of your life.
