We praise our wonderful Lord and Saviour for the privilege of serving Him and being a part of the Kingdom of God growing in Ecuador. We are also privileged to be a part of a team of wonderful friends and supporters who have seen this ministry grow a ministry called Chaski. During the Inca Empire in South America, Chaski runners carried messages for their king. Today Christian Chaskis are taking the message from our King of Kings to the people of Southern Ecuador.
The Saraguro people of the jungle area are growing in their Christian faith. Yet the greatest need is for discipling and teaching. There is potential to penetrate the area with the gospel if there were sufficient trained leaders. Training up leaders is the focus at this time.
Owen and Avalon Brown are involved in the following ministries amongst the Saraguro people of Ecuador:
Teaching literacy to adults.
Ladies and childrens ministries.
Micro-enterprise development.
Assisting in church planting and leadership training.

Owen is involved in the practical side of building of the guinea pig production units. This micro enterprise will give the leaders a better income to enable them to work bi-vocationally in ministry and provide a reasonable income for their families. Currently guinea pigs are sold to local restaurants. It is also part of the discipleship for the leaders involved. He is also teaching adults to read and write and helps in the childrens ministry. Avalon is involved in childrens ministry and ministry to women. She also does literacy work and is involved in a small way in the budgeting and financial side of the micro enterprise project.
