Hi,
Now as homeland missionaries we could not fulfil our role in serving our Lord here without you our partner.
The last few months have not been without difficulties, but are far outweighed by the blessings. Avalon’s full time role in administration and Owen’s part time role as short term team coordinator have been a big learning curve, but we are mastering the computer systems and paperwork well now. Andrew Nimmo was previously looking after both of these roles. After we had settled in, he went on a mission trip to Russia.
We are now also on the Mission Team at Hamilton Elim so we look forward to being involved in this area.
This last month Owen has been involved in presenting OMS to Bible College students, at Church meetings and at Promise Keepers. The men, especially, are excited about getting active and being involved in God’s plan. Owen has also been organising a team to the Philippines in January, a young man James Fitzgerald to Ecuador for 3 months and a team in February to Ecuador for 3 weeks. Avalon and I will be leading the team to Ecuador in February. At the moment there are two possibilities for Ecuador with others enquiries still coming in. Would you like to join us in visiting our friends in South America? We can assure you of an exciting and growing time. This diverse country with its many cultures and geographical zones will challenge you. Come with us to taste and see what life is like there. We will be visiting the Saraguro people that we worked with in the jungle, spending time with the children and women, visiting the leaders and helping wherever needed. Can you teach a simple craft? Sing a song? Help practically? Be an encourager, a friend? Then please think about joining us. You will learn more about yourself, about another culture and at the same time grow in your Christian faith. This will be a life-changing experience. We would love for you to come!
We Praise God for his abundance and all that we need in our lives. We praise the Lord for Owen’s growing un-churched connect group. Thank the Lord for the interest in mission involvement from Bible Colleges and many men at Promise Keepers in Auckland.
We value your prayer support and value prayer for: * Angel, Carlos and Sulay in Yantzaza, training the Saraguro leaders. * Our support level may increase to enable Owen to be full time and develop the growing potential of short term missions. * Many enquiries may be able to “go”. * For the Ecuador team: for their financial needs and for prayer support.
Thank you and bless you all so much. Owen and Avalon Brown Serving with OMS International
