What about vaccinations? |
We have a list of vaccinations required for each country and will tell you which ones you should have before you go. Each country requires a different set of vaccinations. |

Do I organise my own airfares, insurance, visas....? |
OMS is here to help you get to the mission field. We organise all your travel arrangements, purchasing air tickets, arranging for the appropriate visas, and organising comprehensive travel insurance to cover your entire time overseas. Your accommodation and other daily needs ares organised by those already on the field. |
How can I become involved with OMS? |
Apply to OMS to go as a missionary, or If you are not able to GO to the mission field then you may like to consider becoming involved as listed below:
By becoming a prayer partner and holding OMS prayer meetings at your home. Prayer groups are needed around the country.
Voluntary workers are needed in the office especially once a month for stuffing envelopes with the ITH.
Part-time voluntary Regional Representatives are needed to represent OMS in all areas of New Zealand. Financial support is needed for our OMS missionaries, home office, national pastors and students.
Arranging a mission evening for your friends to meet an OMS missionary.

Does OMS have "tent-makers"? |
OMS prefers to have their missionaries give all their attention to the work to which God has called them. However, in countries where missionaries are not allowed, OMS works in strategic ways. We have a couple of small clinics in Haiti and Ecuador, but do not normally engage in social or welfare work. We prefer to challenge the local churches to accept the responsibility for serving their own people. In this way they do not become dependent upon the Mission, and gain dignity and pride in their own communities.

How are OMS missionaries supported? |
Each of our missionaries trusts God to provide his/her support through the prayers and gifts of His people. Full training and support is given from our office.
